New releases – winter 2005

2 Cd’s with two very HEAVY swedish visual artists who alesis dm10 both were (and is still) experimenting with music and soundrelated art. Two names, two artists that are highly valued internationally.

More news to come, be patient…

Olof Bright was founded by Mats Gustafsson and Thomas Millroth 2000. The general idea was to create a label specialised in different kinds of improvised and modern music: avant rock, free impro but also lettrism and other experiments. Very important to us is the connection between the visual form and the content; the label is open to artistic creations of records, both vinyl and CD, but also artists´ books and alike.

David Stackenäs was, when this record was made, indeed a coming guitar player, who presented a very personal sound and attitude to improvised music. You could trace the free impro tradition with its many important string dazzlers, but you could also feel an open mind towards other kinds of music like rock. Especially in the energy, sound and pulse. Here we can listen to two brilliant solos by Stackenäs, which are a good reflection of the thrilling music this innovator of energies on the guitar produced during Open Music at the Ystad Art Museum October 2000 together with such giants as Thurston Moore, Lee Ranaldo, Loren MazzaCane Connors and many others. The record was edited when Ystad Art Museum arranged its Open Music Festival during the first Kultubro Festival.
